GbongGwom @ 70: You are a peace advocate

THE GbongGwom Jos His Royal Majesty Da Jacob GyangBuba has been described as an advocate for peace in Nigeria.

The accolades was given by Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau state in a statement Sunday to celebrate the 70th birthday of the First Class Monarch who is Chairman Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs.

Lalong praised the Monarch’s role in dealing with insecurity and restoring peace particularly during attacks witnessed recently in parts of the state and also through solid contributions in finding peace, harmony and economic development of the Northern Region as member of the Northern States Traditional Council.

“The attainment of the landmark age of 70 by the Royal Father is a momentous occasion that calls for celebration and Thanksgiving to God”, the Governor said.

He also said: “The GbongGwom has received special grace from God for a successful career where he rose through the ranks to the pinnacle of the Nigeria Customs Service and upon retirement, was given the privilege to ascend the historic throne of the Berom nation where he has continued to provide leadership to the entire State Traditional Institution”.

Lalong in the statement wished the Traditional Leader many more years of peace, good health and God’s protection.
