Governor Mohammed committed to ensuring access to education

In an effort to achieve goals 4 and 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals in Bauchí State, the State Commissioner of Higher Education, Dr Lydia Tsammani, at the ongoing two day education summit said the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed, is committed to ensuring that every child has access to quality education.

Dr. Lydia stated this at the ongoing two today Education Summit taking place at the Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Hajj Camp, Bauchi. She pointed out that the summit would surely bring the state out of its present education inadequacy.

According to her, “Your collective contributions to the issues involved will advance education in the state.”

She said the governor has the commitment to ensure that every child has access to quality education in line with goals 4 and 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through increase in access and quality.

“The important persons that can translate these goals are the teachers and the government has provided institutions to facilitate the realisation of this,” she said.

“Today teaching is regarded as a stepping stone and beggar’s job and we need to find a solution to this problem to improve the quality of education.

“As we engage in the discussion, let’s be focused on strategy and innovations that will take us to a future where our education sector will be a beacon of excellence.

“I commend stakeholders for their efforts in developing education and I am optimistic in the future of development of education in Bauchí State under the good and progressive leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed”, she said.
