NGO offers free surgery for cleft lip patients

A non profit religious outfit, Good Smile Africa Advocacy Initiative in partnership with Kogi State Government is to offer free surgery for cleft lip and palate patients in Kogi State.

A statement by the religious body which was made available to our correspondent in Lokoja Tuesday, indicates that the free surgery will take place at the Specialist Hospital, Obangede and Okene in Kogi State as from 19th to 23rd September, 2023 beginning from 8: 00 am daily.

According to the statement, ” The free surgery is aimed at bailing the less privileged in the society out of their health predicament.

“It is also targeted at complementing the government’s efforts in ensuring that healthcare delivery services get to rural communities. ”

The statement therefore, called on victims of the cleft lip and palate diseases to avail themselves of the rare opportunity and turn out for the surgery treatment.
