Police debunk alleged disappearance of male organ

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Bethrand Onuoha recently, declared that the rumour making the rounds on alleged disappearance of male organs in Lokoja, the state capital is fake and false information.

The commissioner warned those behind the rumour not to take the law into their hands and stop giving out false alarms as they stand being prosecuted for disturbing the public peace.

The Commissioner in a statement through the Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja, recently, called on the residents of the metropolis and its environs to desist from peddling fake and false information on the disappearance of male organs that is currently trending in Lokoja.

He further stated that some of the allegations have been investigated by the police and medical examinations were equally carried out, which turned out to be false.

According to the statement, “the false information is the sole aim of inciting public disturbance, creating fear and disrupting the peaceful environment the state is currently enjoying. The police is planning stricter measures to contain false reports in the state. Anyone caught giving false information will be prosecuted according to the law.

“Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police sternly warns members of the public to desist from taking the law into their hands by carrying out jungle justice. It noted that the Command has deployed its security assets to detect individuals behind peddling rumour that has so far led to attacks on innocent citizens. Therefore anybody caught taking the law into his/her hand will be prosecuted according to the law.

” To this end, the Commissioner of Police enjoins the good people of Kogi State to remain security conscious and report anything that looks suspicious in their areas to the Police”
