Taraba govt. suspends 7 school principals

The Taraba State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin, has reportedly directed the immediate suspension of seven principals for sabotaging the free education policy of the administration.

According to reports currently circulating on local news blogs, the commissioner was quoted saying, “Free education policy is not a child’s play.”

The affected schools included Government Day Secondary School, Kofai, and Salihu Dogo in Jalingo Local Government Area, Government Day Secondary School, Kununi, in Lau Local Government Area, Government Day Secondary School, Jauro Yinu, in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area, Government Day Secondary School, Kakulu, in Zing Local Government Area, Government Secondary School, Takum, and Government Day Secondary School, Yakassai, in Wukari Local Government Area.

THE NIGERIA STANDARD could not independently verify the report as commissioners under the Kefas administration are in the habit of ignoring calls by journalists in the state.

A call made by this reporter to the commissioner was not answered but she demanded a text be sent.

However, till the time of filing this report, she had not responded to the message.
