PLATEAU United Football Club of Jos returned to winning ways after beating visiting Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin 2-0, in the match day 35 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, played at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.

The Peace Boys, placed sixth on the log, are working hard to clinch a continent ticket, with just three games to the end of the season.

Mbwas Mangut, Plateau United Technical Adviser, expressed happiness for securing the maximum three points, despite the difficulties encounter during the game.

“Well, I’m happy for securing the three points. It was a very difficult match, even though we took charge of the game earlier and we were able to score our first goal in the first stanza. But when the second half resumed, Kwara United played better but were not able to score. After we made substitutions, we were able to bounce back and got our second goal” he said.

He stressed that they will concentrate on winning their three remaining games.

Kabiru Dogo, Technical Adviser of Kwara United, describe the game as a good one, but his boys couldn’t utilize their scoring chances.

“As far as I’m concerned, it was a good game for both sides, but Plateau United took their chances but we didn’t”, he lamented.

He assured his team will escape relegation by winning their remaining matches.
