Wikki Tourists dedicates win to governor’s S’ Court victory

The sports loving Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Muhammed has promised to support the state owned football club, Wikki Tourist, morally and financially.

The governor made the promise at Government House recently when the Hon.Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mohammed Salis Gamawa, led the team Interim Management Committee, technical officials and players of the state darling team to felicitate and congratulate him over his re- election victory at the Supreme Court recently.

He emphasised that sports is one of his topmost priority as it is one important aspect that creates jobs for youth, unites them and of course, a weapon for national unity. Bala said that he was not happy when Wikki Tourists was relegated, now playing in the national league.

Governor Bala however, commended the performance of the club so far in the Nigeria National League and assured them of every support that will encourage them gain promotion back to where they belong and maintain the name of Bauchi as Mecca of sports in Nigeria.

“The former management failed me as they allowed the club to be relegated, hence my decision to instruct the commissioner to bring in sound management and I’m happy now they are doing well. ”

Earlier in his presentation, the Youths and Sports Commissioner, Mohammed Salis Gamawa, said “the visit is aimed at coming to congratulate you , your Excellency on your recent victories at the judicial process”.

Salis said his ministry will forever remain grateful to the governor for his unwavering support for its programmes, promising to justify the confidence reposed in them.

A member of the Interim Management Committee, Umar Sa’idu, expressed gratitude to the governor for making Wikki Tourists FC one of his priorities, dedicating the 3-0 victory over the visiting ABS FC to the governor for his Supreme Court victory.

Team Captain, Mohammed Idris Guda, while congratulating the governor on his recent victory at the Supreme Court, pledged the players commitment to work harder until the target is achieved.
