Mutfwang pledges commitment to football development

The 14th Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian National League (NNL) commenced yesterday at De Bridgeville Hotel in Jos, Plateau State, attracting football stakeholders from across the nation.

Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, was represented by Hon. Bashir Lawandi Datti, the Commissioner of Sports, Plateau State. In his speech, Datti warmly welcomed all attendees and expressed the state government’s dedication to investing heavily in football development.

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang lauded the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) for their recent achievements and commended the efforts of the newly appointed NNL Board in revolutionizing football administration in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. The governor emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and football stakeholders to restore the lost glory of football in Plateau State and the nation.

He assured the delegates that the Plateau State Government would spare no effort in providing the necessary support for the development of football in the state. This commitment includes ensuring the best hospitality and security for visitors, creating an enabling environment for players, coaches, and officials to thrive, and investing in infrastructure that will uphold the standards of the game.

The atmosphere at the Annual General Meeting was one of unity and collaboration, as football enthusiasts expressed their optimism for the positive changes that lie ahead for the Nigerian National League.

The gathering in Jos showcased the collective efforts to rejuvenate and enhance sports, particularly football, in Plateau State. It also provided a platform for delegates to discuss and resolve pertinent issues that will shape the future of the league.

With the support of the Plateau State government and the dedication of the NNL Board, there is a renewed sense of hope for the growth and progress of football in the state and the country as a whole. Earlier the President, Nigerian Football Federation, Allhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau who was represented by Margaret Icheen, former NNF Chairman, expressed his gratitude and extended a warm welcome to all attendees at the 14th edition of the Annual General Meeting (AGM). He specifically acknowledged the contributions of board members, club presidents, LNSEO staff, and key individuals who have played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the event.

He particularly commended the representatives from Egypt for their inaugural presence, highlighting their valuable input in terms of education, appointments, and networking opportunities. Musa expressed deep appreciation for their commitment and assured them of continued collaboration and support.

Emphasizing the dedication of Acuma leadership to achieving excellence in domestic football, Musa thanked the club presidents for their unwavering confidence. He pledged to continue representing and supporting their interests.

In order to maintain consistency and ensure optimal service delivery, Musa urged all participants to align themselves and strive for the best possible outcomes. He concluded by extending his wishes for a pleasant and memorable stay at the meeting, encouraging participants to take advantage of the exceptional weather and engaging experiences. The 14th edition of the AGM is poised to be a significant platform for exchanging ideas, forging partnerships, and further enhancing the football landscape in Nigeria and beyond.

In his part, the Chairman Nigeria National League, Mr. George Aluo, expressed deep honor to be among the esteemed assembly of friends. He extended warm greetings on behalf of the Board and acknowledged the support of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). According to him, the AGM marks a new beginning as the newly appointed Board embarks on a journey to revitalize the league and transform its image. The chairman called for the collective effort of stakeholders to join in the noble endeavor of repositioning the NNL.
