Anniversary: Alia directs officials to submit scorecards

As part of activities to mark Governor Hyacinth Alia’s one year anniversary in office, all commissioners, special advisers, heads of extra ministerial departments, parastatals and agencies have been directed to submit scorecards in their respective areas to the office of his Special Adviser on Research, Documentation and Strategy.

The governor said the directive became necessary in line with his administration’s conscious efforts at ensuring transparency, accountability and public documentary awareness to people of the state on his key performance indicators.

In addition, the documentation, accountability briefing and transparency initiative was to further serve as springboard for accurate futuristic projections, performance and for effecting the correct balance of strategic planning and development process for the state going forward.

Governor Alia in a statement by his Special Adviser on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Dr. Aondona Mkor, directed all affected ministries and agencies to submit videos, pictures of activities and achievements of their organisations with dates and locations within the first year of the present administration.

He explained that detailed achievements/activities in their organisations are to be conveyed in writing/documents with dates and references.

The special adviser further said the documents should include challenges facing their organisations and possible policy options in addressing such challenges and other necessary information that may facilitate the aim of the governor in advancing the cause of good governance, transparency and accountability for the good of the state.

The special adviser announced that official letters on the above subject will be communicated to all concerned.
