Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has expressed concern over the inability of the state Hisbah Board to address the increasing immorality and anti-social behavior affecting the attitude of youths and children across the state.

Governor Bala while attending to a forum of chief Imams within various Juma’at Mosques in Bauchi Metropolis at the Government House, assured them that he would reposition the board in a most interesting way that would allow competent people to effectively handle its activities.

He revealed that plans are underway to appoint Senior Special Assistants from different Islamic and Christian organizations to further support the government’s commitment in societal re-orientation.

The governor encouraged the religious leaders to make good use of their knowledge and experiences in propagating the real teaching of the religion. And therefore condemned in totality the mode of preaching by some clergy capable of inciting public disorder.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the state Commissioner, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza, said they were at the Government House to congratulate the governor on his recent Supreme Court Victory. He described the idea to reposition the Hisbah Board as a step in the right direction.

He however, emphasized the ministry’s commitment to complement the governor’s efforts towards addressing all forms of deviant behaviors in the state.
