Bauchi State Government, World Bank commence road construction

Bauchi State Government with support from World Bank kick started the construction of 19 kilometers Liman Katagum-Luda-Leka road.

Governor Bala Mohammed, while launching the commencement of the construction project at Liman Katagum in Bauchi Local Government Area of the state recently, reiterated his administration’s commitment towards improving the living conditions of citizens of both rural and urban areas.

He announced that he will soon embark on construction of additional smooth roads for the safety of motorists and economic development of the state.

Bala Mohammed assured the gathering that Bauchi under his leadership has witnessed massive changes in the area of education, roads, health, agriculture and roads network in the last four years, and used the occasion to commend the World Bank for its interventions.

The governor stated that his administration has generated resources and constructed rural and urban roads across the state. He further said that the Liman Katagum-Luda-Leka road when completed, will provide lasting solutions to problems facing farmers and merchants over the years, in addition to providing them with access to basic social amenities for better living as dividends of democracy.

Governor Bala expressed happiness with the tremendous support his administration receives from various stakeholders and development partners across the globe.

He said the project will be executed under the Rural Access And Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), a World Bank-assisted initiative. Governor Mohammed said the beneficiaries of the 19 kilometres road will forever remain grateful considering its importance in the economic development of the areas and Bauchí State as well.

The coordinator of the Rural Access And Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), Engr. Mohammed Aminu Bodinga, expressed delight with Governor Bala for collaborating with the agency towards the development and transformation of Bauchi State especially in terms of infrastructure.

Mohammed Aminu assured Governor Bala of qualitaty project that when it is completed, Bauchi people will live to benefit for a very long time.

Also the Commissioner of Rural Development and Special Duties, Hon. Faruk Mustapha and Caretaker Chairperson, Bauchi Local Government, Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko among other stakeholders at the event, appreciated Governor Bala for such developmental initiative towards expanding the state and establishing rural roads projects across the state considering the economic importance to the affected communities.
