THE Christ Image Assembly (CIA) Jos has distributed wrappers and food items and also embarked on free medical outreach to widows and less privileged persons cutting across all faith in Plateau State as part of its support to them during the 18th Community Based Outreach ahead of Christmas celebration.

The occasion which started on Wednesday with free medical services, general counseling and climaxed yesterday with the distribution of wrappers and food items, took place at the Church premises around Zik Avenue in Jos, the Plateau State capital where thousands of beneficiaries drawn from both the Muslim and Christian faith trooped in.

Drawing from this year’s theme tagged, “A Season to Celebrate: Come and Experience the Love of God at this Season”, the General Overseer of CIA, Rev. Bode Okerkoya, t said, the purpose of this gesture was to show the unimaginable love of God to mankind through them.

While delivering sermon at the end of this community-based outreach, the Deputy Director of Mission CIA, Pastor Sam Olafere, read from the Book of Romans 10: 17 and said, “the love of God is so sufficient to man, and it is not like that of man or politicians whose way of love is to give out to get something in return.

On his part, the State Resident Pastor of CIA, Pastor Sam Oyewo, thanked God for seeing yet another celebration and that, having enjoyed the good love of Christ Jesus at Christmas, the Church thought it wise to share it with these widows and less privileged to demonstrate how faithful God has been to the Church.

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, the Zonal Director of Mission CIA, Pastor (Mrs) Gladys Adenikinju, said, “we started with a bag of rice 18 years ago, but God has blessed us and we in turn are giving same to you today. It is our prayer that we do more by God’s grace to touch your lives in this little way.

SUNDAY STANDARD reports that, apart from these widows and aged people who benefited, Persons with Disabilities (PWD) were not left out as they also queued up to benefit. There were also testimonies of God’s faithfulness from the delivering sessions where one Lydia Ishaku of Borno State who was affected by Jos bomb blast thanked God for being alive today.

However, there were jubilations all over the place as women who came from different denominations in Jos-North LGA were seen singing and dancing, praising God saying, “we have not seen this kind of kindness. God bless CIA, the Pastors and the General Overseer!”.
