Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Dan Manjang has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing renovation work at the Plateau Publishing Corporation (PPC), Publishers of The Nigeria Standard and Sunday Standard newspapers.

Manjang on arrival at the premises of the organization Monday to inspect the level of work carried out ahead of the governor’s visit to commission the City Line Machine and the renovation work on the structure, was received by the Acting General Manager, Mr. Paul Jatau and management of PPC. He said he was very impressed with the ongoing work which has reached advanced stage and thanked Governor Simon Lalong for ensuring that The Nigeria Standard is back on the street.

” We are happy that we are living The Nigeria Standard better than we found it. I am very impressed. I am sure if the governor were to come here himself today, I can tell you for sure that even if he wants to commission this machine today, it is possible, it can be done,” he stressed.

The Commissioner further stressed that many of the state publishing houses were no longer on the streets and commended the management and Board of the PPC for being able to keep the organization going. He added that this administration has done its part by coming to its rescue.

On whether the work would include office furniture, the Commissioner said the work was being done in phases but assured that with further releases, newsprints, and other consumables will be purchased to keep the tabloid running. He noted that government is a continuous process. If the furnishing aspect was not done, the next government should continue from where it stopped.

Places inspected by Commissioner included the Newsroom, Technical, and Production Departments as well as the City Line Machine.
