All is set for rehabilitation of Bauchi to Dindima road by the Federal Government.
This was disclosed by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, at the ground breaking ceremony of 29 kilometers road from Dindima to Maina Maji in Bauchi and Alkaleri Local Government Areas awarded by his administration.
The Governor commended the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima for his commitment towards actualization of the project and maintained that when completed it would address the transportation challenges being experienced by commuters.
Our correspondent who covered the event reports that major components of the project include construction of bridges and culverts from Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State to Gombe to reduce the incessant cutting off of road along the highway especially during rainy season.
The governor at the inauguration of Dindima to Maina Maji Project, said about ten billion Naira was approved to provide smooth access to Yankari Games Reserve, enhance transportation and commercial activities for the benefiting communities and tourists.
The State Commissioner, Ministry of Works and Transport, Ibrahim Galadima, said the work is to be completed in 18 dry months and assured that the Ministry would ensure strict adherence to the contract specifications.
