Foundation trains Islamic aid groups on traffic control

A Bauchi-based non-governmental organisation, known as Wunti Al-Khair Foundation has trained members of joint Islamic Aid organizations (security volunteers) on basic and technical skills on crowd and traffic management, emergency response to ensure orderliness and free-flow of traffic during the Eid-el fitr celebration in Bauchi State.

A well-known philanthropist and patriotic indigene of Bauchi Local Government Area, Alhaji Bala Wunti shouldered the volunteers’ two-day training that was held at the Bauchi Central Mosque Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) Conference Hall which ended Sunday.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training, the Director National Aid Group of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) Alh. Bala Ibrahim Sani recalled that the foundation chairman has for years been shouldering such Islamic promotional activities by giving volunteers the desired knowledge to carry out the rewarding duties.

He explained that the training is the fifth of its kind being sponsored by Bala Wunti. “We lack words to express our gratitude to the founder of the foundation other than pray for bountiful rewards from Allah”.

Sani who is also the Lifidin Bauchi, disclosed that the foundation trained 150 Islamic Aids members who can also step it down to other volunteers towards making the forthcoming Ei-del Fitr celebration smooth, orderly and accident-free.

Lifidin Bauchi noted with delight that the trained volunteers would complement the efforts of corps of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), the Red Cross operatives and other sister/voluntary organisations for a peaceful Ei-del fitr celebration.

He also spoke of the need for the foundation’s leader to further assist with the provision of some ambulance vehicles for needful medical services during such voluntary activities.

The foundation chairman, Alh. Bala Wunti said that the training of the ‘Yan Agaji is geared towards easing the conduct and celebration of Ei-del fitr by the Muslims Ummah slated for next week.

Wunti, who is the Group General Manager, National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), said the exercise was informed by the foundation’s determination to ensure that the thousands of Muslim faithfuls going to various Eid Grounds are properly guided and protected.

Kabiru Garba Aminu, who represented Bala Wunti at the occasion, opined that the training among the various religious associations would promote cooperation and better understanding in undertaking religious activities or exercises.

Also speaking at the occasion, an Islamic cleric, Sheikh Bala Isa expressed delight with the contributions of Bala Wunti towards the promotion and propagation of the religion of Islam in the state, as well as his philanthropic gesture to humanity such as building of mosques in Bauchi metropolis and helping the needy in the society.

Our correspondent who covered the occasion reports that at the end of the programme, the participants went home with bags of rice and clothing materials as Ramadan gift.
