Governor Mutfwang promises to name SEC members soon

The Executive Governor of Plateau State has said he would name his executive council members soonest. Just as he charged the newly appointed Chairman, Commissioners one and two of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), to discharge the responsibilities bestowed on them with utmost trust so as to earn the confidence of the staff and the generality of the people of the state.

According to him , the local government system was in a dire need of reformation, stressing that they were carefully chosen to put the system inorder and correct the ills that had eaten deep into the local government administration.

Governor Mutfwang gave this charge during the inauguration of the Chairman and Commissioners of Plateau State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), on Monday at the Banquet Hall, Little Rayfield , Governor’s Office, Jos.

He said the inauguration became necessary because of the importance attached to the local government system as the LGSC are the operators of the system.

The governor thanked civil servants in the state for calling off the strike which according to him, had crippled the day-to- day running of government activities. He urged them to be committed to their duties.

The governor directed the newly inaugurated officials to resume immediately, pointing out that there was no time to be wasted but to go into business in earnest.

Responding on behalf of the inaugurated officials, Chief Simon Tangni thanked the governor for finding them worthy to serve in his cabinet and promised not to disappoint him.

According to the Chairman , the best way to appreciate their appointments was to bring out results saying they had no course to disappoint the governor.

Chief Tangni further assured of a robust, well organised local government system in the state under their watch. He solicited support from staff of LGSC as well as well wishers in order to succeed in the task ahead.

Chief Simon Tangni was inaugurated as Chairman, Honourable David Racha , Commissioner one, while Rt. Hon. Joyce Ramnab as Commissioner two in that order.
