Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong has asked security agencies to fish out those behind renewed attacks in parts of Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas (LGAs) which have led to loss of lives and properties.

He also lamented that the attacks are attempts to reintroduce crisis and bring the state back to the dark days it experienced in the past, which was largely contained by his administration.

Lalong made the call in a statement Monday.

The governor condemned the attacks which took place in Murish, Kumbum District,  Jwak Mai Tumbi in Mangu, and Marish in Bokkos LGA. He added that the swift intervention of security agencies ensured that the situation did not escalate.

“I want all those behind the attacks fished out and brought to justice without delay”.

“The attacks are another attempt to reintroduce the era of violence and crises which have been largely contained due to government’s huge investment in security, peace building and reconciliation”, he said.

While commiserating with those who lost their lives and properties, the governor directed the Peace Building Agency and the State Emergency Management Agency to immediately reach out to the victims with support.
