Makinde approves selection of new Soun of Ogbomoso

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the selection of Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye as the new Soun-elect of Ogbomoso land.

Makinde made this announcement on Saturday.

The position of Soun of Ogbomoso land is currently vacant.

The stool became vacant as a result of the transition of the immediate past Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi.

The monarch joined his ancestors on Sunday, 12th December 2021.

Makinde has however approved the selection of the Soun-elect.

The governor made this announcement through a statement sighed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola.

He appealed to the indigenes of the city to work with the monarch to consolidate the successes of his forefathers.

“His Excellency congratulates the new Soun-elect on his ascension to the throne of his forebears”.
