Monarch charges journalists to be role models

Patron of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ),Plateau State Council, His Royal Highness(HRH), Emir of Wase, Alhaji Mohammad Sambo Haruna has urged Journalists to be role models in the journalism profession.

Haruna disclosed this during the union’s first congress meeting held after the election of the council,at the NUJ Secretariat in Jos recently.

He congratulated the new Exco and expressed confidence that they would take the union to greater heights.

The royal father encouraged them to be strong and ready for the task ahead. He noted that leadership is a responsibility and advised Exco to carry everyone along, as they pilot the affairs of the union for progress and development.

Haruna assured the union of his support at all times and also called on members to support the new Exco in their new place of assignments.

Earlier during the congress, the Chairman of the council, Ayuku Pwaspo appreciated members for their support during and after the elections and assured members that Exco would not fail them as they discharge their duties.

She maintained that the confidence reposed in them to serve would be justified.
During the congress meeting, committees saddled with responsibilities were inaugurated. The committees include: Advisory, Ethics, Training, Press Centre, Sport and Assignment.
