MUTFWANG ADVOCATES INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE FOR EFFECTIVE SERVICE DELIVERY

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering an all-inclusive government, for efficient service delivery to the benefit of all citizens in the state.

In a statement by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor, Gyang Bere, recently, and made available to journalists, he stressed the importance of inclusivity in governance, citing its role in promoting social cohesion, fostering peace, and driving economic progress.

Governor Mutfwang shared these insights during his speech at the Wilson Woodrow Presidential Center in Washington D.C.

He highlighted the vital role that sub-national governments in Nigeria and Africa play in facilitating meaningful engagements with development partners and managing international relations, especially concerning issues directly affecting citizens’ lives and living conditions.

Governor Mutfwang reiterated his commitment to providing transformational and visionary leadership, to generate socio-economic benefits for all residents of Plateau State.

He emphasised the significance of the US strategy towards sub-Saharan Africa, launched in 2022, which underscores the renewed commitment to sub-national capacity building to unlock Africa’s urban potential.

Commenting on the status of Plateau State as an agricultural hub in Nigeria, Governor Mutfwang pointed out that the state has a comparative advantage in promoting the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), set for renewal in 2025.

Governor Mutfwang appealed to the United States to engage extensively with Nigeria’s sub-national governments, particularly Plateau State, to realise the shared vision, leveraging Plateau’s vast potential.

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (WWICS) or Wilson Center is a Washington, D.C.-based think tank named after former U.S. President Woodrow Wilson, who was the only President of the United States to hold a PhD.

It is also a United States Presidential Memorial established as part of the Smithsonian Institution by an act of Congress in 1968.
