Mwadkwon congratulates leadership of 10th Assembly

Senator Simon Mwadkwon has congratulated the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu on their emergence as principal officers of the 10th National Assembly.

This was contained in a statement issued by Friday Bako, Director, Media and Publicity to Senator Simon Mwadkwon on Monday.

In the same vein, the senator congratulated Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Sule, his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Fom Gwottson and other principal officers of the state Houses of Assembly across the nation on their elections to pilot the affairs of the 10th Houses of Assembly.

Senator Mwadkwon harped on the need for better legislation in order to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens of Nigeria.

He urged all state and national lawmakers not to disappoint the citizens for the trust and confidence reposed in them but justify same with outstanding performance and credible representation. “Our constitutional mandates are lawmaking, representation and oversight function to ensure a robust lawmaking organ of government.

” We have to always remind ourselves that as representatives of our people, we have critical roles to play in meeting their expectations and in strengthening our democracy. We are accountable to the citizens and must continue to give accounts of our stewardship at all times. We must legislate and proffer workable solutions to address the security and economic challenges bedevilling the nation, ” he said.

The lawmaker charged the citizens to keep supporting and praying for their representatives to succeed as they get prepared to provide them with sound leadership and bring democratic dividends to their doorsteps. He wished all members of the state/National Assemblies fruitful tenure.
