North East to host Trade Fair in Bauchi

Arrangements have reached an advanced stage by members of the Central Planning Committee for the hosting of the 15th edition of the North East Joint Trade Fair in Bauchi.
The idea  to  re- kick start the hosting of the Trade Fair in Bauchi State was part of resolutions of the recent Northeast Governors Forum Meeting held in Maiduguri in an effort to improve commercial and business activities within the sub-region which was affected by activities of insurgents.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, who is Secretary to Bauchi State Government while briefing journalists on the outcome of the committee’s meeting at Government House, Bauchi.
He explained that sub-committees have also been constituted with a view to mobilizing and encouraging business men and women to participate in.the trade fair.
Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, revealed that  the Trade Fair is expected to commence on the 21st to 31st of January 2024 at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) Square. He assured  that adequate security and logistics towards the success of the event is fully guaranteed.
The Bauchi State Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Alh. Mahmud Baba Ma’aji, while calling on Bauchi based traders and business operators to take advantage of the gathering to boost their income,  commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his commitment towards economic development of the state.
 Baba Ma’aji, stressed the economic importance of the trade fair and  said  the state will succeed in diversifying its economy through encouraging small and medium businesses and Public Private Partnership (PPP.).
 Our correspondent in Bauchi reports that the meeting had in attendance Commissioners of Commerce from all the 6 North East states in the zone, members of House Committee on Commerce, Trader and Investment as well  Directors General, North East Chambers of Commerce in the region.
