PSIRS restrategises for revenue generation

PLATEAU State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS) has evolved a deliberate strategy aimed at repositioning the workforce for better understanding so as to inject fresh ideas on revenue generation.

In a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of the Service, Mr. Dashe Arlat and made available to SUNDAY STANDARD in Jos it disclosed that staff of the organization will have better understanding of the revenue generation policy that would enable them to have deeper knowledge of their professional callings.

According to Mr. Arlat, staff of the PSIRS must see their new places of assignment as a place to learn and inject fresh ideas to ensure better view and performance of revenue collection in the state.

The Chairman advised the workforce to redouble their efforts so as to sensitize and educate Tax payers on importance of filling returns, keeping records, response to demand notices and registering their business with the Service as well as obtain their Tax Identification Numbers (TIN) in order to avert the wrath of the Consolidation Revenue Law 2020.

He cautioned the staff against vices capable of attracting negative activities and encouraged them to ensure all revenue policies are followed to the letter for effective performance and positive legacy.

Mr. Arlat used the forum to commend the Executive Governor of Plateau who is the Chairman Northern Governor’s forum and Chairman Revenue Council, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong for providing a favorable playing ground to the workforce of the service for effective step up of revenue profile of the state.

He encouraged tax payers to contribute their quota in the socio-economic development of Plateau by paying their tax as and when due as one of their civic responsibilities.
