The Northeast Coalition of Youth for Progressive Governance and Sustainable Development has called on the immediate past Minister for Communication and Digital Economy, Prof Ali Isa Pantami to run for governor of Gombe State in 2027.
The coalition in a press conference on recently said that Prof Pantami is the type of governor that is needed in this digital age to lead the state to greater heights.
According to the Chairman of the coalition, Babangida Usman and secretary, Christian Gideon Musa, Prof Pantami has gained exceptional accomplishment and strategic development acumen that has placed him above others to govern Gombe State.
“We, the Gombe State youths from the eleven LGAs of the state under the umbrella of this coalition wholeheartedly urge Prof Isa Ali Pantami to run for the number one seat in the light of the enormous advancements we have seen under his leadership as minister.
“In order to help him achieve even greater successes for the state and it’s citizens, we pledge our utmost support to this course
“Prof Pantami’s outstanding record of success, both domestically and globally, bears witness to his steadfast dedication to development.
“Our state and the nation as a whole has benefited significantly from his expertise in communications which has transformed the way we connect and engage today.
“We believe that Gombe State will achieve great things given his innovative strategy and trans formative leadership ideology”, the group stressed.
Asked if it is not too early to start making such calls considering the fact that 2027 election is over three years from now, the coalition said, it is never too early as this is the right time for him to think and even make consultations.
Speaking on his acceptability, the young professional said “He is a politician now as well as a well known Islamic cleric. He is religiously and culturally accepted in every nook and cranny of Gombe State by Christians, Muslims, traditional religious followers, because of how he has touched many lives.
“He is non tribal and carries the masses along. He created jobs for uncountable number of youths across the country and he has the capacity to do more in Gombe State. It’s time we give people like him the opportunity to lead us to greater heights”, the coalition emphasised.
They also called on Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to support Prof Ali Isa Pantami to succeed him as he stands as the best person that can build on the Governor’s outstanding achievements and create a better Gombe State.
