NUJ Chairman charged to carry everyone along

The first female Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council, Mrs.Ayuku Pwaspo has been encouraged to carry everyone along.

This was conveyed in a message by the Assistant Pastor of the Church of Christ in all Nations (COCIN), Local Church Council (LCC), Nassarawa Gwong Jos,Mr.Christopher Chung during the Thanksgiving Service in her honour on Sunday.

Chung in a sermon titled “Chosen to be holy and thankful for the peace of Christ”, said that thanksgiving is an act of worship to God Almighty for all things HE has done for us in many ways in our lives.

He took his Bible reading from the book of Colossians chapter 3 verses 12 through 17. Chung emphasized that God’s divine purpose had ordained her to lead the Union at this particular time, was to be seen as ” holy and merciful to her. He tasked her to bear that in mind,as she endeavoured to work with others. He urged Pwaspo” to be compassionate, showing love,kindness toward all. Be gentle, humble enough to tolerate the weaknesses of people that you might come across in the cause of discharging your duty.”

Earlier in a speech by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Plateau State, Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, he applauded her for being the first female chairman of the council and believed that she would make the difference as she pilots the affairs of the Union.

He appreciated the church for her prayers, support and commended members of the union for giving Pwaspo the mandate to move the council to a higher heights.

THE NIGERIA STANDARD reports that the occasion was graced by dignitaries from all walks of life. They include the immediate past chairman, Mr.Paul Jatau, Press Secretary to the Governor of Plateau State, Mr.Gyang Bere, Mr.Taddy Yakubu, representative of PRTVC General Manager and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman, Plateau State, Rev Fr Polycap Lubo.
