PLASU VC cautions SUG officials on negative influence

Vice Chancellor of the Plateau State University Bokkos (PLASU), Professor Malau Matur Bernard, has cautioned the newly sworn- in Executive Council of the Students Union Government (SUG) to not allow themselves to be used as agents that would hinder smooth academic activities in the institution.

This came in a press statement signed by the university’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), John K. Agam, and made available to THE NIGERIA STANDARD in Jos, the State capital Sunday shortly after the inauguration of the union’s new executive council.

The Vice Chancellor said, “The management of the university is looking forward to a cordial working relationship with the Student Union Government as well as other unions in the institution towards enhancing uninterrupted academic activities to enable you graduate within the stipulated academic calendar.

“Therefore,, we urge you to adopt dialogue as a way of mitigating misunderstanding on campus. We want to use this opportunity to thank the Peter Arin led officials for their meritorious services and wish them success in their future endeavors”, Matur prayed.

Earlier In a welcome address, the Dean, Faculty of Student Affairs, Doctor Felix Masok, expressed hope that the new crop of SUG officials would come with more refined ideas that would bring in good tidings to the institution and the university community.

On his part, the newly sworn- in President of the Students Union Government, Plateau State University, Bokkos, Comrade Gomos Mundi Timothy, thanked the management and students of the university for the confidence reposed in them. And promised to stand as a link between students and management of the institution.

Those sworn-in alongside the SUG President included: Comrade Bulus Sarah Davou, (Vice President), Comrade Jeremiah Abel Dung, (Secretary General) and Comrade Isaac Patience Bimorit, (Assistant Secretary General) with Comrade Buba Titus Nankap and Comrade Diship Plangnan as Financial Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Others include: Comrade Danjuma Noknaan, as the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Comrade Samuel Ayuba Wash, Director of Socials, Comrade Rwamko Dyanin Godwin, Director of Sports, Comrade Nnaemeka Blessing Nkechinyere, Welfare Officer, and Comrade Stephen Zwalsuk Ezekiel as the Sales Secretary in that order.
