Plateau assembly constitutes standing committees

Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly (PLHA), Rt. Hon. Moses Thomas Sule has during Thursday’s plenary constituted five (5) House Standing Committees, with the others to follow soon.

They include the Committee on Selection which is to be chaired by the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Moses Sule while the Rules, Business, Inter-governmental and Inter-parliamentarian Committee has as Chairman, the Majority Leader and member representing Bokkos constituency.

For the House Services and Welfare Committee, Hon. Bala Fwangje who is the member representing Mangu constituency will now take charge, with the Minority Leader and member representing Shendam chairing the committee on Labour and Security.

The last but not the least committee for now, that is the Fund Management Committee has as its Chairman the Rt. Hon. Moses Thomas Sule who is the speaker and member representing Mikang constituency.

Meanwhile, the House has during plenary passed for first reading ‘A Bill for a Law to Establish the Plateau State International ICT Institute, Assak Bassa Local Government Area and Other Matters Related ,2023’.

Also passed for first reading, is ‘A Bill for a Law to Establish the Plateau State Security Trust Fund and for Other Matters Related, 2023’.

Motion for both bills were moved by Hon. Agbalak Adukuchili Ibrahim, member representing Rukuba/Irigwe constituency while Hon. Gabriel Dewan Kudanbgenna representing Pankshin North and Hon. Cornelius Yok representing Qua’an Pan South seconded each bill in that order.
