Senator Sunday Marshall Katung representing Kaduna State South Senatorial district, has congratulated his wife, Abigail who was recently elected as the Lord Mayor of Leeds City, United Kingdom.
Abigail emerged as the first African woman to hold that position, which her husband said, it came ‘at the heels of her hard work, dedication, and integrity.
The senator said this in a statement he personally signed and made available to our correspondent.
He said, I heartily congratulate my wife, Abigail Marshall Katung, on her election as the Lord Mayor of Leeds City for the 2024/2025 term.
My wife’s election, unanimously done, reflects the positivity of extracting strength that is inherent in our diversity for the good of everyone.
Her election is an affirmation to me that when our unique differences are nurtured, it creates a sense of belonging that paves the way for collective social growth and progress for all.
More significantly, being the first African woman to hold that position highlights the limitless opportunity that unity confers on a society. And ours shouldn’t be an exception in creating a merit-filled space for the utilisation of our individual skills.
