The National President of Legionnaires Wives Association of Nigeria (LWAN), Hajiya Fatima Idris, has advised members of the association to secure their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and shun the act of selling their votes to dubious politicians.

Fatima gave the advice while commemorating Armed Forces Remembrance Day and distribution of wrappers to their members on Sunday in Bauchi.

She charged the Legionnaires’ wives not to sell their votes to politicians who have been boasting to induce the electorate with money, detergents and other materials.

The president urged members to always keep their PVCs safe and ensure that they vote for credible candidates that would serve the country and the people as well free the country from economic quagmire, insecurity, proffer solutions to education and other social activities that affect youth and women.

“Vote for a trusted and detribalized Nigerian who has the experience and capacity to find lasting solutions to various challenges facing the country.

“Again, don’t agree to sell your conscience for money or material things that would not last. Use the PVC wisely for electing credible leaders for our dear country,” she said.

The President also urged those who have not collected their PVC to use the window of opportunity created by the electoral body to do so.

Mrs. Idris urged governments at all levels, individuals and organisations to support the families of fallen heroes and the Nigerian legions.

Responding on behalf of Legionnaires Wives, Hajiya Sa’adatu Mohammed commended the doggedness of their president for fostering unity among their members.

She called on members to always be available during meetings and conferences for the cause of their well-being.

Sa’adatu  used the opportunity to appeal to the Bauchi State government to look into the plight of the legions and their families as well as the families of fallen heroes in the state.
