The President, Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) Rev. Amos M. Mohzo, has congratulated the people of Fan District of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State, for celebrating hundred years mission accepting and sustaining mission work.

He stated this last Sunday, while delivering a sermon on the occasion marking COCIN Fan Centenary for having reached hundred years, held at the Fan Primary School.

Represented by the Vice President, Rev. Dr. Timothy Nwan, the President said the celebration was apt considering God’s faithfulness to them to have reached this far. And urged them to wake up to the current challenges of this generation and face the enemy of the church.

The President said, “hundred years is not one day and the grace of God is sufficient to the people of Fan District and it is the day the Lord has made. Thanking God for His mercy, love and faithfulness is what we stand for. God is the solid foundation of the Church and if it were not for God, the Church in Fan would not have stood”.

The President prayed that the 2023 general elections would be peaceful, calling on Nigerians to open their eyes and vote people who could support and respect the Church and not people who are bent on destroying the foundation of the Church.

He urged people to see politics as a game and stop displaying bitterness, hence the need to keep aside negative practices and hope that those voted would be people who respect humanity and could perform more than any administration.

Earlier, the Chairman, Provisional Church Council (PCC), Rev. Ezekiel Fom Jugu, disclosed that they were celebrating because the COCIN Fan was established in 1921 and they were supposed to celebrate it in 2021, but due to some security challenges faced in the past, they couldn’t.

On his part, Da Gwom Rwai of Fan District, HRH, Da Iliya Dashwe, expressed concern that Fan was blessed, but the youth have not followed the route of the elderly, hence the need for them to come back to the church and succeed their forefathers.

The Council Chairman of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area, Hon. Jok Alamba, represented by his deputy thanked the church for their support and prayers and called on people to be security conscious as we move towards elections come 2023.
