The Social Democratic Party (SDP), has called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on security in Kogi State over consistent alleged political killing.

The Director of New Media, Muri/Sam Campaign Council, Isaiah Ijele made the call in a statement made available to journalists in Lokoja recently.

The call according to him, has become necessary following the killing of two other thugs allegedly carried out by the entourage of the chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, I shaka.

“There was sporadic shooting in Anyigba by Ishaka’s entourage on Saturday of which two people believed to be thugs have just been confirmed dead.

“The thugs that died were killed by their own APC thugs and information has it that it was rivalry or sharing formula tussles because the governor was there today!!

“Soldiers arrested them with two Siena cars loaded with arms but Ishaka the local government chairman, is following them to rescue those arrested by soldiers.

“We are calling on IG, DSS and the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency now in Kogi State.

“It would be recalled that barely a week ago, a lady member of APC was killed at Koto-karfe rally. We are witnessing this incident of killing again at Anyigba” Ijele said.
