Embrace inclusive governance, group tells Governor-elect

A group under the auspices of United Progressive Political Parties in Kogi State, has appealed to Kogi governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to embrace all inclusive governance and be magnanimous in victory.

Idris Bala Abdulgafar, who spoke on behalf of the group during a press conference in Lokoja recently, also called on all the stakeholders that participated in the quest to rule the state to exercise restraint for the peace of Kogites.

The group,which reminded the people that without peace, there would be no development, said it was not ignorant of the fact that some people were aggrieved during the exercise but sued for peace.

“All political party candidates should also come together to build a Kogi of our dream where ethnicity, religion and sectionalism has no place.

“Our appeal to all the political parties, especially the APC, is to be magnanimous in victory by demonstrating the policy of all inclusive governance as exemplified by our distinguished President, His Excellency, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo of APC should extend a hand of fellowship to all the political parties that struggled through the process of becoming the governor of our state to present their agenda for the development of Kogi State,” the group further advised.

It also urged Ododo to build on uniting the state where sections of the three senatorial districts are treated fairly without any iorta of sentiments, adding,”united we stand and divided we fail.”

The group commended stakeholders in the election, such as election observers, NGOs , INEC and the media, for contributing towards ensuring that the state ” is the the most peaceful election ever witnessed in Kogi State since its democratic governance in 1991.
