Governor’s spokesman attributes appointment to goodwill

Chief Press Secretary to the governor of Benue State, Sir Kula Tersoo has said his appointment as spokesman to Governor Hyacinth Alia is a demonstration of the governor’s genuine love for the people of Ushongo Local Government Area.

Kula stated this recently at St. Joseph Catholic outstation Ityavkase, Mbaanyam in Ushongo LGC during a thanksgiving mass organized by Hon. Murphy Torbua to thank God for appointing Sir Tersoo Kula as Governor Alia’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS) as well as the emergence of the member representing Mbagwa State Constituency, Hon. Saater Tiseer as Majority Leader of the 10th Benue House of Assembly.

The CPS charged his people to always defend Governor Alia and his policies, saying that for the governor to have remembered the local government with such a strategic appointment in his early days in office, it was an indication that he has the local government at heart. He promised to synergise with the Majority Leader to bring dividends of democracy to the people.

On suspension of the twenty three council chairmen in the state, Mr. Kula said it became necessary for the council chairmen to step aside through suspension to enable the state assembly to carry out a seamless investigation into alleged cases of misappropriation committed by the chairmen.

On his part, Majority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Saater Tiseer said he was overwhelmed by continued love shown to him by people of Mbagwa, promising that he will do his best to represent their interest.

Also speaking, the state governor, Rev father Dr. Hyacinth Alia represented by his Chief of Staff, Paul Biam said he met the state in a terrible condition, emphasizing that although the rebuilding process was going to be tasking but expressed the hope that he will not give excuses to the people of the state.

In a remark on behalf of state assembly members who graced the occasion, the Speaker Hon. Aondona Dajoh thanked people of the area for remembering to thank God for using Governor Alia to elevate some of their children.

The speaker further charged people of the state to support the current crop of leaders to deliver good governance.

Earlier in a sermon, the priest in charge of St. Stephen’s parish Lessel, Rev. Fr. Moses Shawon admonished the congregation to always act in truth and sincerity, saying that was the only way the society will become a better place for all.
