The Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Plateau State, Hon. Ephraim Usman says the present administration has resolved to leave a legacy of great service and a prosperous state.
He noted that he will collaborate with the Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN) for good governance and capacity building. Hon Usman disclosed this during a courtesy call on him by the Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN), Plateau State branch in his office.
He stated that Plateau State is happy with the location of the Association College and university in the state, adding that it has trained a lot of the professionals and quite a number of them are holding key positions in the present administration.
The Commissioner called on the association to join ‘The Time is Now’ administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang in moving the state forward and pray for it to succeed.
Earlier in his remarks, the state branch Chairman of the association, Mr. Andy Agbadi Udah, stated that they were in the Commissioner’s office to identify with him as one of them and to congratulate him on his recent appointment by the Governor which he said has gladden their hearts.
He thanked Governor Mutfwang for appointing their members into his administration and promised to support the government. The Chairman announced that the ANAN university has introduced masters and PhD programmes to enhance knowledge.
Also in the Commissioner’s office were officials of the National Association of Plateau State Students (NAPSS) led by its National President, Jerry Mantim who said they came to identify with him as a former leader of the association. He called on him to ensure that the present administration fulfils its promise of increasing their bursary allowance
He thanked the Governor for releasing over three hundred million and two hundred million naira to the Plateau State University Bokkos and the State Polytechnic Barkin-Ladi respectively, for the accreditation of some of their courses.
In a related development, the leadership of the Pankshin Old Boys Association led by its National Treasurer, also paid a courtesy visit on the commissioner. Mr. Reuben Mallah said their visit to the ministry was to congratulate the Commissioner who is one of them, on his recent appointment. And called on the State Government to complete the abundant legacy project in their college.
He called on the State Government to revive and increase the number of technical colleges in the state, adding that this will go a long way to help the students to be self-sufficient.
Responding, the Commissioner thanked all the groups for coming and stated that the present administration will work together with them. He called on them to support and pray for them to succeed.
