JTF rescues kidnapped medic

A joint task force (JTF) code named Operations Zenda has rescued the resident doctor in charge of Ukum General Hospital, Zaki Biam, Dr. Asema Msuega from kidnappers den.

Commander of the JTF, CSP Justin Gberindyer who briefed, newsmen at the scene of the rescue operation explained that Dr. Msuega was abandoned by his captors in the bush around Ayati village in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.

CSP Gberindyer said after pressure of pursuit from combined security team of Operations Zenda/JTF tactical team, Ukum Division and Operation Whirl Stroke who were closing in on their hide outs around Ayati/Imade Adamu Shitile border axis, the victim was abandoned in the bush.

Dr. Msuega has been rescued unhurt and was immediately reunited with his family and loved ones.

Gberindyer who assured residents of absolute peace with a promise that crime must be reduced to its barest minimum, vowed that operations Zenda JTF tactical team will never rest on its role of protecting lives and properties of the Benue populace.

It could be recalled that Dr. Asema Msuega was whisked away on the 23 July, 2023 by unknown gunmen between Zaki Biam and Ayati axis in Ukum Local Government Area on his way for a 3-day medical outreach.
