The Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong has led the campaign team of his party to its Abuja North-West Presidential Campaign Mega rally.
The rally which took place Tuesday December 13, 2022, at at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna, was also organised by the party to flag off gubernatorial, senatorial, House of Representatives and state Houses of Assembly campaigns.
In his remarks at the rally, Lalong said he is happy to lead the campaign team to the Northwest Zone Kaduna rally to canvass for votes for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima.
He assured that if given the mandate, the APC candidates will lead the country to greater heights.
National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi in his remarks while chanting the party slogan called on Nigerians to come out and vote the APC.
He said the APC had recorded a lot of successes in different spheres that have resulted to infrastructural, economic development of the country.
Kaduna governorship candidate, Uba sani urged party faithfuls to vote the APC presidential candidate Tinubu because as an economic and development strategist, he had transformed Lagos State during his reign as governor.
He assured the people that he has no doubt that Tinubu will replicate the same policies and structures in the whole country if voted.
The vice-presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima in his remarks while speaking on the podium appreciated the overwhelming support of Kaduna people.
The APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu while speaking at the mega rally appreciated the overwhelming turn out of the Northwest.
‘Your hope is here” he chanted as he pointed out the laudable plans he has for Nigerians as spelt out in his manifesto: “Renewed Hope”.
Speaking earlier, Chief Host of the rally and Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai expressed happiness with the overwhelming crowd and turn-out, urging people from Northwest, and all Nigerians to give the APC their votes to enable the party to produce the next president of the country.
Earlier on Monday, a day ahead of the rally, Lalong had led the APC flag bearer, Tinubu, alongside Governors of Kano, Abdulkahi Ganduje, Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu Jigawa, Abubakar Badaru, and other party leaders and candidates to meetings with key stakeholders in Kaduna and visited communities in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State to commiserate with victims of series of bandit’s attacks that occurred in the area.
The NIGERIA STANDARD reports that the traditional ruler of the town, His Royal Highness Zubair Megwari II had in appreciation of the visit conferred the traditional title “Dakari Birnin Gwari” which means fearless warrior to Tinubu for being the first presidential candidate to visit the area.
