According to him, the ministry has set the pace for keying into the agenda of the “Time Is Now” , urging other ministries, departments and agencies to tow the same path so that good governance would be visible and be appreciated by the citizens of the state.

Governor Mutfwang gave this charge recently at the opening ceremony of a five day retreat and training for staff of the Plateau State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning (MBEP), held at the Carter Conlon Conference and Retreat Center, Lamingo drive, Liberty Dam Road,Gwafan, Jos.

He noted that the ministry was central to the planning of government activities, stressing that any ministry that does not bring development has failed woefully, adding that the government would not condone that in any way.

Earlier, the Commissioner of the Ministry, Mr Chrysanthus Dawam informed Governor Mutfwang that the main functions of the Ministry include, the provision of technical support needed for economic development and growth of the state.

According to the Commissioner, the ministry was also saddled with the responsibility of determining and advising on policies that would best promote unity among all citizens living within the state.

Hon. Dawam further noted that the ministry enhanced the efficiency of public sector spending as well as general economic management and provision of focal points for the coordination of state policies and programmes.
