THE Secretary to the Government of Plateau State (SGS), Arch. Samuel N. Jatau, has described the victory of Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal as victory to not only the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), but the people of Plateau State.

He stated this recently, shortly after representing the Governor at the 3rd National Convention and Free will Offering of the COCIN General Church Council (GCC), Men’s Fellowship, held at the COCIN Headquarters Compound in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The SGS said, “I am excited! That is the first thing to say because our victory has been upheld. It is clear that there was no case in the first place. The PDP conducted its congresses and has its structure because it elected its executives, but was challenged in court.

“We did it again and personalities came and congratulated our party Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan. Today, Justice has been served. I have always said that, where there is no justice, there is coax. The tribunal has restored peace and calm to Plateau State.

“I want to congratulate the Governor, the man of the people of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for winning at the tribunal. This is the foundation and the structure of the case. So, once we have won here, every other thing will be straight forward. We want to congratulate Plateau people because their choice has been upheld at the tribunal because this is the free will of the people”, he enthused.

According to Jatau, “People have been expressing their joy. Let us forget about the little things that divide us and concentrate and focus on Plateau State. What is at stake is the heritage of Plateau people and nothing else. The tribunal has been a distraction, honestly speaking, but like I said, we should tighten up our belt.
“Barr. Caleb Mutfwang is here to work, he is here for success of the government and a God fearing person. Expect progress, expect peace, expect wealth creation and development for the people of Plateau State. And at the end of the day, everybody will rejoice and be glad”, he assured.

Earlier, the COCIN President, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo, represented by his Vice, Rev. Dr. Timothy Luwang, described COCIN as an organised Church and expressed gratitude to God for bringing participants from different churches comprising over 106 COCIN Regional Church Council (RCC) and 2 Chaplaincies.
He assured Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the Church’s support and prayers for him to succeed because they were aware of the numerous challenges he was facing as Governor of Plateau State and congratulated the Governor on his victory at the Election Petition Tribunal.
