OBI visits Jos to commiserate with  attack victims

The Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi recently stormed Jos , the Plateau State capital enroute Mangu Local Government Area to commiserate with communities who suffered attacks recently and to celebrate his 62 birthday with the Internally Displaced People (IDPs).

Recall that Fulani terrorists had continued to attack and unleash mayhem on them.

Mr Obi who was in company of party executives, both at the national and state, Prophet Isa El – Buba, as well as well wishers said he cannot come to Jos without following the due protocol of paying homage to the Chief Security Officer of the state.

He thanked Barrister Caleb Mutfwang for granting him audience despite the short notice.

According to the LP presidential candidate, the crisis that had bedeviled Plateau recently, was a thing of great concern to any sane person. He stressed, “I chose today, my birthday, to celebrate it in it Plateau, and in Mangu particularly. To celebrate it with the people that the crisis affected in one way or the other. I came to condole with you and to let you know that we are together in good or bad times. ”

Mr Obi commended Governor Mutfwang for the approach he used in handling the crisis. He assured him that it was appreciated by all Nigerians. And added that his coming to Plateau had nothing to do with politics but to identify with those affected as a result of natural and or man – made disaster.

He lamented how innocent Nigerians are being killed in their homes for no just reason, saying that Plateau used to be one of the most peaceful states in the country but of late, it was being portrayed negatively as a result of the crisis in the state.

The Labour Party, presidential candidate, further said it was his wish one day to see the son of nobody becoming somebody in Nigeria. And assured the governor that his doors are wide open for any assistance.

Responding , Governor Caleb Mutfwang appreciated Mr Peter Obi for identifying with the people of Plateau State in their time of need. The governor said that he was really honoured by that singular act.

According to the Governor, Mr Peter Obi has redefined Nigerian politics and had changed it’s landscape for the betterment of all.

Governor Mutfwang emphasised that he has come to rule but not to bury. He gave the assurance that he was doing everything possible to ensure that the crisis comes to an end and those found wanting are punished accordingly.
