Deputy Governor pledges support for women, lauds CNM

Plateau State Deputy Governor, Josephine Piyo has assured women of the needed support as care givers to ensure stability at the home front.

Piyo gave the assurance when she received on a courtesy visit, wives of former Permanent Secretaries in the state.

The Deputy Governor who was elated with the visit commended them for their prayers, encouragement and support, which have helped them begin the governance process on a firm foundation.

She explained that she would carry the women along in the discharge of her duties. And added that government will look passionately at the issues of unpaid emoluments of retired civil servants in the state.

Leader, wives of former Permanent Secretaries in the state, Christiana Agaldo explained that the group is a non partisan one which was formed long before their husbands disengaged from action service.

She expressed joy and gratitude to God for uplifting one of them to the exalted position of number two citizen in the state.

The group congratulated the Deputy Governor and assured her that they would rally round her to ensure she delivers on her mandate.

Similarly, Plateau State Deputy Governor, Josephine Piyo has commended the Provost and management of the College of Nursing and Midwifery Vom for the giant strides being recorded in the institution.

Piyo gave the commendation when the Provost, Bako Sambo led Management on a courtesy visit to Government House, Rayfield, Jos.

The Deputy Governor who described them as colleagues in the nursing profession assured them that she will not disappoint them.

She noted that she would continue to partner with the college to create a conducive environment for staff and students.

The Deputy Governor appreciated God and Plateau people for entrusting in their hands the leadership of the state and solicited more prayers to enable them succeed.

Earlier, Provost of the College, Bako Sambo said they were in her office to felicitate with a teacher, a mentor and a senior colleague who by providence is the number two citizen in the state.

He commended the Deputy Governor for her service to God and humanity through the nursing profession and assured her that they will support the programmes and policies of the present administration in the state.

The Provost prayed for more wisdom, good health and enablement for her to succeed in the new assignment.
