Plateau State Police Command parades two sets of kidnappers

Plateau State Command of the Nigerian Police has paraded a 22 year old, named Ashiru Ibrahim (M) of Angwan Rogo suspected to be the kidnapper who kidnapped a 4 year old Abubakar Sadiq Nazifi of Zam Sam, Abuja Mata Rikkos in Jos-North LGA of the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Bartholomew N. Onyeka, psc(+) disclosed this while parading the suspected kidnapper and some criminal elements who have been terrorizing communities at the Police Headquarters Jos, the state capital recently. 

 The Commissioner said, “on the 21/12/2022 at about 0140 hrs, while acting on a impeccable information from a reliable informant, arrested one Ashiru Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 22years old of Angwan Rogo, Jos, who was suspected to have kidnapped one Abubakar Sadiq Nazifi ‘m’ aged 4 years old of Zam Zam, Abuja Mata Rikkos, Jos.

   “On 19/12/2022, he was arrested by hawk-eyed Police operatives attached to ‘A’ Division of the Command at Leichester Hotel Area in the process of collecting Three Million Naira ransom from the victim’s parents.

 “Upon interrogation, the suspect made some useful disclosure that led to the rescue of the victim from the kidnappers’ den unhurt. Further investigation led to the arrest of his accomplice, one Bashir Saleh ‘m’ of Rikkos, Jos who initiated the kidnap. The case is still under investigation”, he disclosed.  

Similarly, the Command also paraded eight (8) suspected kidnappers named; Naandem Dennis (30 years), Bitrus Gideon Daboki (42 years), Zakka Tashak (48 years), Tashak Peter (52 years), Aaron Dowang (70 years), Chinkinan Aaron (47 years), Titus Dayil, (25 years) and (8) James Adamu, (53 years) for criminal conspiracy, extortion and  kidnapping of one Talatu Dayil Ayuba and Dangnan Danladi to unknown destination.

According to the CP, “on 24/09/2022 at about 0930 hrs, a case of kidnapping was reported at the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command by a complainant that some unidentified gunmen invaded his brother’s compound at Gidan Dabat Village, Qua’anpan LGA, on 22/09/2022 at about 2200 hrs and kidnapped his wife, one Talatu Dayil Ayuba and Dangnan Danladi both females to unknown destination until ransom of Two Million Naira was paid to their captors before they were released. 

“On receipt of the report, the anti-kidnapping operatives swung into action and arrested the following suspects in connection with the kidnap; (1) Naandem Dennis aged 30 years, (2) Bitrus Gideon Daboki, 42 years old, (3) Zakka Tashak, 48 years old, (4) Tashak Peter, 52 years old (5) Aaron Dowang, 70 years old, (6) Chinkinan Aaron, 47 years old, (7) Titus Dayil, 25 years and (8) James Adamu, aged 53 years both males of Gidan Dabat Village of Qua’anpan LGA, Plateau State. 

“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to have conspired and perpetrated the crime and collected the sum of 2 million Naira as ransom. The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed”, he assured.     

   Onyeka therefore, enjoined the peace loving people of Plateau State to make their own security a priority by avoiding night hour’s journeys and isolated routes. “I have put in place all necessary security measures to ensure a hitch-free celebration throughout the festive periods and beyond.

“I call on residents of Plateau State to trust us with timely information so as to continue to nip crimes in the bud. I cannot end this address without appreciating the zeal and tirelessness of the members of the forth estate of the realm who make sure that our efforts always receive the publicity they deserve”, he stated.
