PLSG inaugurates visitation panels for tertiary institutions

PLATEAU State Government has inaugurated a Visitation Panel to check all irregularities in all the seven (7) state tertiary Institutions and report back in four weeks to ascertain the state of these institutions and their conditions for optimal service delivery.

This followed the approval by the Executive Governor, Barr Caleb Mutfwang, for the appointment of over fourty-nine (49) persons with proven academic prowess to assess the poor academic condition of these institutions which were the light of Nigeria in terms of academics.

Inaugurating the panel at the Conference Hall of the Old Government House, Rayfield, Jos, Monday, the Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), Arch. Samuel N. Jatau, said, “You have been carefully chosen because you have distinguished yourselves in various fields of endeavours.

“This panel is not a witch hunt, but it is for the success and progress of Plateau State, our institutions and our children. We need to check to see that the right things are done so that the schools will be stronger and better because we have received so many complaints, for example, in terms of employment.

Responding on behalf of the Inaugurated panels, Prof. Angela Miri, thanked the governor for the wonderful initiative and for allowing them to serve in this capacity, considering the caliber of personalities carefully selected for this great assignment and promised not to fail, but ensure that they bring back the educational standard

Those inaugurated for PLASU include: Prof. Angela Miri (Chairman); Prof. Thomas Shut; Prof. Ezekiel Best; Prof. Clement D. Chup; Asso. Prof. Veronica Gumut; Mr. Charles Adidi and Hon. Nanman Darko respectively. While those for College of Education, Gindiri, includes: Prof. Dung Pam Sha, as Chairman; Prof. Akintinde; Prof. Musa Labar; Dr. Dagwom Dang; Dr. Nyaghas; Prof. D. J. Mawak and Mr. Yunius Dabels in that order.

Other members who make up Panels for School of Nursing Vom and Colleges of Health Technology include: Prof. Elias Lamle, (Chairman); Mrs. Lami Ayika; Prof. Lohna Bonkat; Pharm. Kim Jerry Pam; Hon. Ishaya Ikpiri; Prof. Neshi M. Dangu and Mrs. Elizabeth Kim accordingly. For Colleges of Health Technology, we have Prof. Naomi Nari James Rugu, as Chairman; Asso. Prof. Nanyak Galam; Mr. David Yohanna Nyango; Chief Dr. Joy Madaki; Dr. Jibrin and Mr. James Dalyop; Dr. Oliver Ndam as members.

Also inaugurated were: Prof. Emmanuel Kwon Ndung, (Chairman); Dr. Ishaku Ziyok; Dr. Chundung Sha; Idris Adams Khami; Dr. Madang Ayuba Dasbak; Dr. Dogara Cletus Hassan and Prof. Joel Yohanna, as members for the College of Agriculture Garkawa.

Those for College of Science Kurgwi include: Prof. Dan-Azumi Bukar, as Chairman; Prof. Yohanna Sati; Prof. Umar T. Dingse; Prof. Vou Keziah Absalom; Mr. Dauda Gyemang; Ahmed Haruna Goteng and Zakari Ibrahim respectively.

Meanwhile, that of the Plateau State Polytechnic, Barki-Ladi, has Prof. Monsignor Cletus Gotan as Chairman, while Prof. B. Ekoja; Barr. Jibrin Nanzing Bani; Prof. Dabur Tongnan Dallis; Hon. Daniel Izang Azi; Engr. Markus Chung Pam and Dr. Soepding Renard Alkali, are to serve as members of the panel respectively.
