The Senate committee on sports has appointed Bashir Hayatu Abubakar as its consultant. This was contained in a letter of appointment signed by the Chairman of the Committee on Sports, Senator Suleiman Kawu Sumaila which copies were made available to the National Assembly press corps in Abuja.
Bashir Hayatu is a sports administrato born in Kano State. According to the letter, “You are expected , with the wealth of experience garnered over the years at your disposal, to bring this assignment to an enviable level of professionalism and also demonstrate a higher level of ethical standard in the discharge of your responsibilities.”
The entire committee members and the secretariat anticipate relishing a rebust working relationship with the consultant, urging him to work harmoniously with the clerk of the committee for efficient and effective service delivery towards achieving the committee’s statutory obligation.
Abubakar holds a Masters of Arts (MA) from City University of London, United Kingdom, a renowned sports administrator who has served the sector in various capacities.
