PLATEAU State stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC), have passed a vote of confidence on the party’s leadership of former Governor Simon Bako Lalong, and promised to work for the progress of the party.

They have also passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the state APC Chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature, emphasizing that the party has at no point been divided for whatsoever reason, describing it as a desperate move by people to cause division in the party.

The State Publicity Secretary of APC, Hon. Sylvanus Namang, disclosed this shortly after a closed door stakeholders meeting which he described as family meeting, held at the state Party Secretariat, Kalwa House Jos, the state capital recently, following media report that there was division.

The state publicity secretary said, “This meeting was indeed, a family meeting and all members came and we resolved all outstanding issues. What you have been seeing in the social media and print media which all of you are fully aware, has all been put behind.

“The party stakeholders have agreed and passed a vote of confidence on His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, as the leader of the APC in Plateau State. A vote of confidence was also passed on the leadership of the party under the chairmanship of Hon. Rufus Bature.

“We want to emphasize here that, there is no division whatsoever in the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state. We have seen the desperate move by some people to cause division in the party and we want to appeal to you journalists who know better than any other person that the APC in Plateau State is united and everything has been resolved and we will continue to work as a family”, he enthused.

Namang, however, expressed the stakeholders’ concern which according to him, formed part of the meeting. It was the lingering crisis in the state which affected some local government areas who have passed through difficult situation because of series of attacks.

“An invitation was extended to His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, to invite all stakeholders regardless of political affiliation to come together to see to the common and peaceful resolution of the crisis. This is because the crisis does not affect only members of any political parties, but the entire Plateau State for it is a Plateau problem and the APC is deeply concerned about this”, the stakeholders pointed.
