Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has praised Plateau as a shining example of a state that celebrates its cultural diversity and fosters unity and peace in Nigeria.

A statement by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor, Gyang Bere disclosed that
Governor Mutfwang made this remark on Sunday during the 2023 Cultural/General Harvest celebration of the St. Mathew’s Anglican Church, Diocese of Abuja, Maitama, Abuja.

He expressed gratitude to God Almighty for his journey so far, saying he never imagined at the beginning of this year that he would become the Executive Governor of Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang acknowledged God’s role in his life and said that his ascension to Plateau State Government House was not by his own merit but by God’s divine grace.

“I thank God for his mercies, who brought us from nothing to where we are today. We are here simply because of the grace of God, we are here simply because of the mercy of the Lord and it is not because we are righteous. We know that God has brought us for a purpose and I would like to ask for your prayers so that we can live for Christ even in the leadership space in Nigeria.”

He appealed for God’s guidance to help him uphold the Christian values of love, fairness, justice, honesty and integrity in public service for the benefit of the people.

Governor Mutfwang described the task of public service as challenging and expressed confidence that the vision for which God has called him to serve at this time would be accomplished.

He added that God, who knows the way through the wilderness, would surely sustain him and the peace-loving people of Plateau State.

He prayed for the peace and unity of Nigeria and Plateau, saying the state is peacefully hosting various ethnic groups from the South West, South South, South East and the entire Northern states with diverse cultural backgrounds.

The Governor said his dream is to make Plateau State a land of harmony, where everyone can live and prosper in their businesses regardless of their culture, faith and ethnicity.

He appreciated St. Mathew Anglican Church for the celebration of the diversity of cultures and said that demonstrates the commitment that Nigeria will work.

The Bishop of Ndokwa Diocese, Rt. Rev. Festus Uzorka Nwafili, who delivered the sermon on the topic “Harvest of Divine Exaltation”, based on Proverbs 3:9-10, urged believers to always give thanks to God.
