First Lady charges women to work in love

Wife of the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Mrs. Helen Mutfwang has encouraged women to work in love and shine the light of Christ in their service to God and humanity while on earth.

Barr. Mrs. Mutfwang gave the word of encouragement at the 29th Annual National Convention of the Women Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria WOWICAN, held at the Christ Apostolic Church, Area One, Garki Abuja.

This was contained in a statement signed by the First Lady’s Press Secretary, Mrs. Narin Gofwen and made available to The Nigeria Standard in Jos.

The First Lady, Mutfwang congratulated WOWICAN for a successful convention and urged them to step down lessons learned to other women in their various states.
She admonished them to strive to emulate the selfless service that was offered by Jesus Christ.

Minister, Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who was represented by the Secretary, Women Affairs in the ministry, Pastor Adedayo, said the theme of the programme was apt considering the happenings in the country and the world at large. And urged citizens to support the present administration and be united towards achieving peaceful coexistence
President, Christian Association of Nigeria, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, acknowledged the efforts of WOWICAN in complementing CAN, and promised to continue to support them to achieve success in whatever programme they would do.

Guest preacher on the occasion, Pastor David Ibiyome of the Salvation Ministry, represented by the Resident Pastor, centred his message on the theme of the convention: “My Peace I Give Unto You, Not As The World Giveth”

Pastor Ibiyome said that true peace comes from God and prayed for peace to reign in Nigeria and the world over.

WOWICAN National Chairperson, Deaconess Victoria Ihesiulor said that the sound teachings received in the fellowship over the years have not only transformed the lives of members, but have also left a positive impact on the communities they serve.
According to her, the theme for this year’s convention is “My Peace I Give unto You, Not as the World Giveth”

Goodwill messages came from Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi, of Love of Christ Generation Church, UN Women Country Representatives to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Beatrice Eyong and the Italian Ambassador to Nigeria, Stefano De Leo among others.
The event featured presentation of awards to some individuals who distinguished themselves.
