Governor suspends activities of NGOs

The 2023 general elections may have taken a toll on Non-Governmental Organizations in Adamawa State.

In a broadcast to the people of the state, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri accused them of vote buying and misleading the people.

According to the Governor, the decision to suspend their activities for the next three weeks is to reorder the electoral behavior of the people and remove the influence of the NGOs who have reduced the statutory mandate to one of vote buying.

The suspension will be lifted after the elections.

Fintiri however commended the people of the state for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the Presidential election.
