THE apex body of Gamai Unity and Development Organisation (GUDO), has raised an alarm over the cruel and unkind post on Facebook by one King Jdeen dated 26/10/2023 on the personality of Her Lordship, Justice Monica Mensem-Dongba’an, President of the Court of Appeal, describing it as irresponsible, insensitive, inhumane and evil.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the National President of GUDO, Dr Albert Kelong Alkali, FPSN, and made available to SUNDAY STANDARD in Jos, the Plateau State capital recently, following the unkind post on her person and family.

The statement said, “Our attention as GUDO has been drawn to an irresponsible and insensitive post on Facebook by one King Jdeen on the 26th October 2023, bordering on the integrity of her Lordship, Justice Monica Mensem-Dongba’an.
“GUDO as a socio-cultural group, is apolitical in nature and represents the entire Gàmai, both at home and in the diaspora and will not stand by and watch while the good name of our daughter is being tarnished and her highly earned reputation dragged into the muddy waters of politics.

“Her Lordship has not presided over any of the political matters or cases involving Plateau State and we wonder why tagging her. If as the President of the Court of Appeal, she assigns judges and the matter does not end in your favour, how does that make her responsible?”, GUDO asked.

However, the President expressed shock at how in the post, reference was made to the loss of her children. “How low can you descend in your desperation to attract attention by dehumanising someone? he asked.

“Ordinarily we would have ignored the post but because of your reference to the loss of her children, it has become necessary to make this response for the records. Death is an inevitable reality that confronts every home, as such the inhuman reference to her loss is unbecoming of the writer.

“As responsible PLATEAU STATE citizens, we all have a responsibility to protect our common heritage against forces of division, confusion and hate. Let us unite for a better and prosperous Plateau”, he advised.
