Insecurity: DSS to deploy own drones, other platforms

Worried by the security situations in the country, the Department of State Services, DSS had concluded plans to deploy locally-produced unmanned aerial vehicle drones, Ak-47 rifles and other platforms as part of operational measures to contain insecurity in the country.

Director General of the agency, Alhaji Yusuf Bichi stated this during his presentation at the graduation ceremony of the Executive Intelligence Management Course EIMC 16 held at the National Institute for Security Studies NISS, In Abuja recently. While pledging the readiness of the security service to continue to use actionable intelligence for relevant agencies of government, Bichi cautioned citizens against disparaging the leaders.

The event was a culmination of a 10-month strategic and leadership programme for 86 course participants with Representatives from Chad, Gambia and Rwanda.

Continuing, the Director General further stated that the agency will continue to pay attention to research and development among others. He said, “Nigeria is a great and God -gifted country. We have the indices of a great nation, let us avoid pull-him-down syndrome”
