Kogi polls: APC candidate, promises all Inclusive governance

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the November 11 Kogi State Governorship election, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has promised to run an all inclusive governance and fairness to everyone if elected.

He also promised a more dynamic strategy that would facilitate effective delivery of democracy dividends through implementation of policies that would impact on the lives of the citizens.

The APC governorship candidate made the promise in Lokoja while interfacing with critical stakeholders and the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria MACBAN.

While wooing members of the association to vote for him, Ododo said his administration, if given the mandate, would focus on improving the standard of living of the people and the economic prosperity of the state.

Ododo expressed satisfaction with the existing unity amongst the people of Kogi, irrespective of tribe, religious and political affiliations, and promised to continue with the government of inclusiveness that has been the hallmark of Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration in the last eight years.

He pointed out that a vote for the APC on November 11, was a vote for consolidation of the laudable achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello, especially the infrastructural development in Lokoja.

He restated his commitment to the principles of equity, fairness and justice, and reassured that he would not be disposed to favouritism, nepotism and lopsidedness in situating developmental projects across the three senatorial districts of the state.

He therefore made passionate appeals to parents and guardians to warn their children and wards against being used by politicians for thuggery and other electoral offences.

“I want to appeal to you our elders, help us to actualise the mandate”

He assured them of his commitment to deliver good governance.

“I want to assure you that I will not disappoint you. We are coming to serve with the fear of God, as power belongs to God” he said.

Earlier, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Aliyu Umar, reiterated the commitment of Lokoja Local Government to the Ododo project.

The lawmaker asserted that Ododo would consolidate on the laudable achievements recorded by Gov. Yahaya Bello.

“For the first time since the inception of democracy in 1999, the people of Lokoja are united and ready to speak in one voice.

Our people would definitely come out on Saturday en masse to cast their votes for APC and its flag-bearer, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, ” he said.

The stakeholders in their separate remarks, assured that the party’s candidate has passion for the sustainable development of the state, promising that he would not disappoint the people of the state.

The event was attended by eminent personalities from the area, including the member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon Suleiman Danladi Aguye; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Deedat Ozigi; Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Fatima Buba.
